Wesley Church is the current home of the first Methodist congregation to organize west of the Mississippi River. The congregation began in 1852 in what later became the City of Minneapolis. Over the years the congregation has occupied three church buildings, the current building being built in 1891. The congregation has a history of notable firsts in both the City and in leadership in the Methodist Church on a national level. The history of Wesley Church is thoroughly entwined with the history of Methodism in America. The links on the right will take you on a short journey of our history.
