The Southside Coalition membership consists of four United Methodist Churches on the south side of Minneapolis:

These churches entered a convenant with each other nearly 20 years ago, when they all were struggling to survive and found themselves to be in competition with each other.   The Coalition became the fund raising and education agency for the four churches to the United Methodist congregations in the Minnesota Annual Conference.

Each of the churches has developed programs that have made major changes in their neighborhoods and in the City of Minneapolis.  A number of groups and services were begun and then given life of their own.  This list includes KFAI Fresh Air Radio, Central Housing Trust, Heart of the Beast Puppet Theater, Simpson Housing Services, Joyce Transitional Housing.  On-going programs include the Wesley Saturday Meals, Joyce Food Shelf, Joyce Nursery School, computer rehabilitation, give-away and training at Simpson and Walker, Walker Food Shelf, and host to many community and recovery groups.
