The people of Wesley United Methodist Church have heard God's call to love and justice for all persons. We proclaim our commitment to the ministry of Jesus Christ for and with all persons without regard to race, gender, age, economic status, sexual orientation, or ability. We believe every person is a child of Goduniquely created and preciouswith special gifts and graces. We believe we are called to God's spirit to respond to economic, spiritual, and intellectual poverty in all its forms of Christian love. We believe we are called to live in community, as a family, with God and with each other. Therefore, we who are in poverty, we who are disabled, we who are gay and lesbian, we who are older, and we who are in recovery are specifically included by the people of Wesley in the congregation and mission. We pledge ourselves to be a well-spring of hope in a desert of despair, and a source and recipient of encouragement to other families of faith, who seek to end poverty in all its manifestations. | |
